A Namgyalma Thangka (also known as Ushnishavijaya) is a sacred, highly condified Tibetan Buddhist scroll painting depicting the Goddess Of Longetivity,Purification, and Victory over untimely death and obstacles. Alongside Amitayus and White Tara, Namgyalma forms the trio of the Three Long-Life Deities highly venerated in Vajrayana Buddhism.
Namgyalma, known as the victorious crowned mother Buddha, is a revered female Bodhisattva who embodies the qualities of longevity, protection, and the elimination of disasters. With three faces and eight arms, she is one of the three primary deities of longevity in Tibetan Buddhism. The central face, which is white, symbolizes the removal of disasters, while the yellow face on the left represents longevity and benefit, and the blue face on the right symbolizes the defeat of negative forces and devils.
Namgyalma is depicted with intricate details, such as an eye on each side of her forehead, a crown twisted around her head, and braided hair that reaches down longer than her elbows. The delicate features and vibrant colors used in this Thangka reflect her serene beauty and powerful blessings.
