A Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) mantra thangka is a sacred Tibetan Buddhist painting featuring the Lotus-Born Guru, often surrounded by his mantra:” Om Ah Hum vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum”.These, often hand-painted , signify compassion and meditation. They are used for daily practice, shrine decoration, and invoking blessings. He wears a white inner garment (bright mind), brown outer robes (sacrifice), and a five-petaled lotus hat. A trident staff (khatvanga) is cradled in his arm, symbolizing his consort.Guru Rinpoche is also the founder of the Nyingma school, the oldest of the four major traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Guru Rinpoche is depicted in his more traditional representation seated in royal posture holding a vajra in his right hand while his left-hand holds a skull-cup containing a vase filled with the nectar of longevity and wisdom. The outer side surrounding Mantra are following
Om mane padme hum” encompasses the three powers that the Buddha contains which is body, speech and mind. Therefore, when we recite hail to the jewel in the lotus, it’s a double fold meaning, the outer meaning is soliciting the energies of compassion so, that we can forgive and let go of things that we have done to others and let go of things that others have done to us. On an inner level is to open up energies we recite “Om Mane Padme Hum” and we meditate on the things that we have done just meditating on compassion is not tangible but to meditate on the things we have done or focus on the things that we have done that we regret and truly think about it and face it.
