A big wheel is in the grip of “Yama” the lord of death or lode of impermanence, who is biting and tearing apart Inside the wheel there are six (Sometime just five) main segments which represents different realms that living beings are reborn into different states of mind that we can find. We are trapped in times. The ‘Heavenly realms are at the top of them jealous gods, Animal, Human being, Hungry Ghosts and the different “Hellish” states at the bottom.
At the inner circle there are two parts, one the positive light parts, who is going up the heaven and the other one is negative dark part, who are going down to hell then reborn into different states of lives.
At the center there are three poisonous animals which represent there evil behaviors of human beings-cock represent greed, pig represent ignorance and snake represent hatred. All human beings have all these evil characters in their mind if they can get rid of these characters from their mind then they can reach to the Nirvana where there is no suffering. Outside layer of the wheel shows twelve different actives of human beings but Tibetan (Buddhism) use it as calendar.
At the top of right side of “Yama” there is ford Buddha god of peace and freedom and at the left side there is Goddess Tara, god of compassion. Those who are at out of the circle they are in Nirvana where there is no any suffering and it is also known as “palace of purity”.
The Twelve Sections of Outer Ring Are:
1. Consciousness is shown by a monkey climbing a tree.
2. Personality is shown by a boat with two persons.
3. A house with six windows represents different senses of human beings,
4. Contact is shown as an embrace between lovers.
5. Feeling is shown by an arrow entering a man’s eye
6. Thirstiness is shown by the form of man drinking wines.
7. Desire is shown by a man picking fruit from tree.
8. Women singing and dancing symbolize process of becoming something new.
9. Women giving birth to a baby symbolize the continuty of generations.
10.Death is shown by a man carrying corpse on his back to the funeral prays .
11.Ignorance is represented by a blind woman led by a sick .
12,Elemental impulses are shown by the pots ,which is potter shaoes from clay.
